Teaching
Two programmes / degree and summer
Most of what I teach is pattern drafting, computer-aided design, and illustration - the parts of the discipline students are expected to know and are least often shown properly. Studios are small, critique is frequent, and nothing is graded on a rendering alone.
Undergraduate Program
Studio and CAD projects run across the degree, from second-year construction through to the senior range. Each project page keeps the work in the order it was made.
- Format
- Two three-hour sessions weekly
One six-hour sessions weekly - Critique
- Pin-up in week 6, final in week 14
- Software
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Assessment
- Process and participation weighted along with output
Hand first, screen second - not out of nostalgia, but because you cannot correct what you have never felt fall.
Community Classes
Summer studio for school-age students and semester classes for adults, taught from observation and hand skills. No prior experience assumed, and everything made is the student's own.
