This research gave me an opportunity to analyze the rich historical and cultural headwear. For this project, I gathered over 2,000 images of headwear in the world and sorted them into 19 categories by the way of wearing around the head and the overall forms. Each category was divided into four different usages, such as ceremonial, religious, daily, and secular. Analysis on headwear implies diverse material cultures around the ceremonies in the past and demonstrates homogenized material cultures in the contemporary context.
